wow that's amazingly great work! wish i could draw that well, but i can't really, and all the people i draw look the same >.o the drawings are way way back in my gallery if you wanted to check that out hehe
That looks pretty cool. I find there are two ways (probably more) to avoid getting those overlapping pencil lines in black areas. The first is to use charcoal pencils which can just get a solid black, but on large areas like this you would probably go through at least one whole pencil. The second is to shade with a circular motion and slowly build up rather than going 100% right off.
Anyway, this looks really good, I really like the shading on the face.
thanx, ill keep that in mind. i saw your gallery and its really freakin good. your awsum at portraits. i dont really do charcoal tho, i try to stick with pencils, especially mechanicals. this one was done with a 6b pencil i think. the background shading took forever as u can imagine.
